Manchester United, one of the most successful clubs in the history of English football, has recently appointed Erik ten Hag as their new head coach. The question on many fans’ minds is whether or not the team can contend for the Premier League title under his leadership.

Erik ten Hag has had a successful tenure as coach of Ajax, leading the team to three titles and reaching the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League in the 2018-2019 season. He has also been credited with developing young talent and playing an attacking, possession-based style of football.

Currently they are on an unbeaten run winning 6 out of 6 games. The defence is gelling up well. There is cohesion in the mid-field trio of Bruno, Eriksen & Casemiro. Marcus Rashford is playing with a smile on his face and is currently in the form of his life. He has been playing some outstanding football. United finally are playing some amazing style of football and have a own game plan about how to go about any game. Maybe this is the year something big happens?

Yes, the team and the squad depth is far away from the likes of City of Madrid, but these sure are baby steps to progress. They are just 4 points away from Manchester City and we are in the month of January. So maybe there is a little hope of the impossible.

One of the main strengths of Manchester United under Ten Hag is their attacking options. With the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Antony, the team has a lot of firepower up front. Ten Hag’s attacking style of play would suit these players well and could lead to an increase in goal-scoring opportunities.

The defence is also a strong point for the team, with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof forming a solid partnership at the back. With the addition of Varane & Martinez, the defence has a lot more depth, and this will be crucial in the race for the title.

Ten Hag’s possession-based style of football is also a good fit for Manchester United. The team has a lot of technically gifted players in midfield such as Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro & Eriksen, and they would thrive in a system that emphasises ball control and movement.

However, there are also some areas of concern for Manchester United. The team has struggled with consistency in recent years, and this will need to be addressed if they are to contend for the title. The team also lacks depth in certain positions, particularly at centre-back and in goal, and this could be exposed over the course of a long, gruelling season.

In conclusion, Manchester United has the potential to be a title contender under Erik ten Hag. The team has a lot of talented players and Ten Hag’s attacking, possession-based style of football would suit them well. However, there are also some areas of concern that need to be addressed if the team wants to challenge for the title. Only time will tell if Manchester United can return to their glory days and win the premier league title under Ten Hag’s leadership.
